  • Welcome to the UW Staff Association

March 17, 2008 — The place is still coming together as we are working on a new web site to help serve our members better. This site is largely an overall information site for everyone to use, we have some general things about the organization here. In our Sharepoint site is where our members will have access to UWSA resources. It will be ‘members only’ access to things like Area Reps minutes and reports we get from various experts. Our blog is being worked on as well. In the near future it will power updates on this main page and facilitate communication on the web with anyone who is interested. We hope that our members find the adoption of web based technologies that are used on the Waterloo campus helpful. There will be some growing pains as we all learn how to use this technology effectively but we hope to smooth out the bumps quickly.

    How to become a member

It’s simple! Over 70% of UW Staff are members of the UWSA. Download the form, fill it out and send it back to us at DC 3603.

    Why become a member?

The UWSA works for staff at the University of Waterloo. We work with the Senior Administration at UW on policies that govern your employment, your benefits, compensation, and other organizational issues. If you are having difficulties on campus we have staff that can help you improve your situation. There are also discounted tickets for attractions in the area and other discounts for members that we are continuously working on. Have a look at our Memorandum of Agreement to see all the responsibilities the UWSA has at UW.

    Sharepoint Services

Many of our SA documents are stored in the UWSA Sharepoint site. Click on the Sharepoint link and you’ll be prompted to give your WatIAM user id and password. Documents such as the SA Constitution, Staff News archives, and Awards and Grants applications are there.
